This chart shows the countries with the best and worst air quality (along with the U.S. for comparison), according to the 2018 Environmental Performance Index, an annual study of 180 nations. Researchers at Yale and Columbia universities examined both indoor and outdoor air pollution to give each country a score (100 being the best). Are you surprised by the results?
